Competent Electrician Interview with Owner
The owner contacted the Competent Electrician in mid of March 2022. The owner wanted a fitness test done for the house he stays. He is worried about the safety of electrical work. He started to google for an electrician online. He came across the Competent Electrician reading the review and called the competent Electrician.
Senior Electrician Jason assigned Senior Electrician Jason wall called to attend. Jason found an incompliance electrical socket tapping power from the water heater switch. He also discovers more than 3-4 electrical safety violations.
Electrician Jason visually inspected the distribution box. he found the electrical distribution looked old. It Has more than one brand of the circuit breaker. The left first single-pole Miniature circuit breaker has two outgoing cables. It is dangerous to have two circuits connected to the circuit breaker. It could have wrongly energised the circuit, and electrocution could occur.
During the actual work, the electrical team led by Jason and Licensed electrician Mr Wong discovered more hidden issues done by an errant contractor. They try to cut costs by rewiring the additional socket outlet with smaller wire size. The initial design electrical circuit is to have a protection twenty-ampere protection. The smaller cable will heat up quickly During a high electrical load situation (for example, using a hairdryer). Insulation of the wire deteriorates very quickly. Resultant is quite similar to the case here: Elderly couple, son in Jurong flat electrocuted to death after cables in plug for water heater fused together
Add three Power circuits to the electrical distribution for the kitchen and office. Current, the system uses one circuit for the kitchen and office. During the previous upgrade, Home Improvement Programme (HIP) contractor usually tapped onto the one circuit in the kitchen. The newly added room shares the old kitchen and the bedroom electrical circuit. It helps the Kitchen area and the workspace area to have a proper distribution.
